To find the value b that makes the expression equal to -11, set up an equation: 2b – 3 = -11. Add 3 to both sides:
2b -3 +3 = -11 +3. Now you’re left with 2b = -8 .
Now divide 2 to both sides: 2/2 b = -8 / 2.
b = -4. Hope that helps
