To find the amount in units of moles CaCl2, we need a few data for the conversion from grams to moles. Also, we need the ratio of CaCl2 to H2O from the hydrated form. We calculate as follows:

1.00 g CaCl2.H2O ( 1 mol / 128.9993 g) (1 mol CaCl2 / 1 mol CaCl2.H2O) = 0.008 mol CaCl2
