Eight times a number is the same as 15 more than 3 times the same number. What is
the number?

The answer is 3
It says eight times a number and since you don’t know that number it makes us x so
8x=15+3x
Subtract 3 to both sides
5x=15
Then you divide 5 to both sides and you get
x=3
