Regina bought fruit for her family. she bought 3 1/2 lb of oranges and 4 3/4 lb of peaches. if she used all but 1 3/8 lb of the fruit in a fruit salad,how much fruit was in the salad?

3 1/2 oranges+ 4 3/4 peaches = 8 1/4 oranges and peaches - 1 3/8 fruit left= 6 7/8 lbs of fruit used.
