Plants invest a lot of nutrients in the fruit to keep the fruit nutritious and healthy. This attracts animals to consume the fruit. Now this helps scatter the seeds to other places and aid with fertilizing those seeds. Therefore, investing many nutrients in the fruit directly helps in growing the seeds to other places.
